Friedrich Heinrich d'Embers

Friedrich Heinrich d'Embers (born November 1741 in Wesel , † December 26, 1803 ) was a Prussian major general and commander of the III. Battalions in Infantry Regiment No. 39 .

Life

origin

His father was the lieutenant colonel in the engineering corps Johann Wilhelm d'Embers (* 1705; † March 16, 1779), who last participated in the construction of the fortresses of Schweidnitz and Glogau .

Military career

d'Embers came in 1756 as a private corporal in the Füselierregiment "Küssow" No. 42 of the Prussian Army . During the Seven Years' War he took part in the battles of Prague , Groß-Jägersdorf , Zorndorf (wounded in the head), Kunersdorf and Freiberg as well as the battles of Goltzenberg (wounded in the foot) and Groß-Strelitz as well as the siege of Prague. During that time he became ensign on May 10, 1757 and second lieutenant on May 5, 1759 . After the war, he became Premier Lieutenant on September 14, 1766 , staff captain on September 9, 1776 and captain and company commander on January 1, 1777 in the "Anhalt" infantry regiment No. 43 . d'Embers then fought in the War of the Bavarian Succession and became a major on January 8, 1790 and battalion commander on July 7, 1790. On September 14, 1790 he received the Order of the St. Sebastian Monastery in Magdeburg. On April 15, 1792 he came to Infantry Regiment No. 33 and thus took part in the war in Poland in 1794/95 . On September 25, 1798 he became colonel and commander of the III. Battalions in Infantry Regiment No. 39.

On April 29, 1802 he received his resignation with a pension of 600 thalers , and on June 25, 1802, he was appointed major general. But he died on December 26, 1803.

d'Embers was married to Sophie Ernestine von Mützschefahl (* 1757; † February 24, 1802 in Kalisch).
