Friedrich Nebelthau

Friedrich August Wilhelm Nebelthau (born January 22, 1806 in Kassel ; † July 31, 1875 there ) was a German judge and parliamentarian in the Grand Duchy of Hesse . As Lord Mayor of Kassel and a national liberal supporter of Prussia , he sat in the Reichstag (North German Confederation) .

Life

After graduating from the Friedrichsgymnasium (Kassel) , Nebelthau studied law at the Philipps University of Marburg and the Georg August University of Göttingen from 1823 to 1827 . In 1828 he became a lawyer at the Higher Appeal Court in Kassel . After 1845 he became alderman and in 1848 vice mayor of the city of Kassel.

From 1836 to 1850 and from 1860 to 1866 he was a liberal member of the Kurhessische estates assembly , most recently as its president. In 1850 he was a member of the Erfurt Union Parliament . From 1864 until his death he was mayor of Kassel, the Hessian Elector Friedrich Wilhelm initially refused the required confirmation through only after the annexation of Electoral Hesse Prussia was issued in the year. 1866 Nebelthau had been campaigning for a connection between the Hessian state and the Kingdom of Prussia for a long time.

From 1867 until his death he was a member of the Prussian manor house . From 1867 until the Reichstag election in 1871 , he was also a member of the constituency of Kassel 5 ( Marburg , Frankenberg , Kirchhain ) in the Reichstag of the North German Confederation . As a result, he was also a member of the Customs Parliament from 1868 to 1870 . He belonged to the National Liberal Party .
