Friedrich Vogel (born June 2, 1929 in Hahnenknoop , today in Loxstedt , † December 9, 2005 in Warendorf ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

In 1966 he was Minister of Justice for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and from 1982 to 1987 Minister of State for the Federal Chancellor .

education and profession

After military service and high school diploma in 1949 at the Laurentianum grammar school in Warendorf, Vogel studied law and political science at the University of Münster , which he completed in 1952 with the first state examination in law; In 1956 he passed the second state examination in law.

Since 1977 he has worked as a lawyer and since 1980 also as a notary in Warendorf.

Political party

After Vogel joined the Junge Union in 1952 , he also became a member of the CDU in 1953. From 1963 to 1967 he was deputy federal chairman of the Junge Union and from 1970 to 1986 chairman of the Federal Working Group of Christian Democratic Jurists (BACDJ) and at times deputy chairman of the Evangelical Working Group of the CDU / CSU.

Vogel was a member of the German Bundestag for the first time from 1965 until he left on October 6, 1966 .

From 1969 to 1994 he was again a member of the Bundestag. From 1971 to 1977 he headed the domestic and legal policy working group of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group. From 1977 to 1982 Vogel was chairman of the mediation committee . In the 12th electoral term, Vogel was chairman of the 1st committee of inquiry (committee of inquiry on commercial coordination , KoKo). Public offices

On October 5, 1966, Vogel was appointed Minister of Justice to the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia led by Prime Minister Franz Meyers . After the coalition with the FDP broke up and Heinz Kühn ( SPD ) was elected as the new Prime Minister with the votes of the FDP, Vogel left the state government on December 8, 1966 after only two months in office.

After Helmut Kohl was elected Federal Chancellor , Vogel was appointed Minister of State to the Federal Chancellor on October 4, 1982. After the federal election in 1987 , he left office on March 12, 1987.
