Frijo Müller-Belecke
Frijo Müller-Belecke (actually Friedrich-Josef Müller ; born March 24, 1932 in Delitzsch ; † July 5, 2008 in Hemmoor ) was a German sculptor and art teacher .
biography
The Müller family came from Belecke (today part of the town of Warstein ) in the Sauerland . His stage name Müller-Belecke became his approved official family name in 1981.
He began his training as a sculptor in 1948 with Alwin Murche in Wittenberg ; he continued it in 1948/1949 with Heinrich Sprick in Erwitte and 1950/52 with Heinrich Püts in Wiedenbrück .
From 1954 to 1959 he studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Josef Henselmann .
From 1959 Müller-Belecke worked as an artist. From 1963 to 1986 he was an art teacher at the Warstade grammar school in Hemmoor. and from 1974 to 1979 art teacher at the German School in Bogotá in Colombia. He then returned to the Warstade grammar school as an art specialist and worked there until 1986.
Numerous sculptures by him can be found in public spaces, especially in various locations in Lower Saxony .
