Günter Grünwald (2006)

Günter Grünwald (born November 27, 1956 in Ingolstadt ) is a German comedian and cabaret artist .

Career

Günter Grünwald grew up in Ingolstadt, where he attended elementary school and secondary school. After a variety of activities, he started a career as a cabaret artist in the mid-1980s. To this day he writes everything himself. In order not to get bored with the program text in view of the numerous repetitions on tours, he improvised extensively from the start. After he was awarded the Passau executioner's ax in 1988 , he and his family were also able to make a living from it.

In 1996, Grünwald stood for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in the election for Lord Mayor of Ingolstadt. He received 2055 votes, which corresponds to a share of the vote of 4.81 percent.

In terms of media, Grünwald first appeared on Bavarian television together with Andreas Giebel and other comedians and cabaret artists , including in the shows Kanal fatal and Die Komiker . Since March 7, 2003, he has had his own late-night show called Grünwald Friday Comedy , which is broadcast monthly.

Private

Grünwald is married and has four daughters and one son.

style

Grünwald ironically describes himself as an “ambassador of good taste” and uses his native dialect when performing. Grünwald's humor and choice of words are often very hearty and coarse, and he likes to make extensive use of Bavarian swear words.

His parodies bow to “the two classics of cabaret art Karl Valentin and Gerhard Polt ”.

Fictional people and objects

In the context of his works, Günter Grünwald not only created various fictional personalities, but also some fictional places and objects.

  • Caretaker Vinzenz Bamberger , an absolute brutal proletarian: chauvinistic and rarely sober; had his first appearances in early, very rough sketches (Drecksaunummer), later in a slightly moderate form with Kanal fatal and Hallo Schröder
  • Jacques Sacques, the greatest fashion designer in Mindelstetten (a parody of the fashion designer Rudolph Moshammer )
  • Bonzo , his "bodyguard" from the Bosnian Popovic , appears more often as a dealer of "fallen from the truck" flat screens or, more recently, " photovoltaic systems "
  • Joe Waschl , the casual cook and not necessarily averse to alcohol (a parody of the current cooking show boom in Germany)
  • Dr. Ulrich Kotmann , a completely incompetent member of the Bavarian state parliament
  • Sigi and Chocko , two thumpers from his early programs; Congenially portrayed in the Willy Astor Show by Günter Grünwald and the namesake , later also adopted in Grünwald's programs, but there under the name "Strapsi und Chocko"
  • Toto & Lotto , two crazy police officers analogous to the TV series " Toto & Harry "
  • Jodelsepp (who mumbles extremely incomprehensibly)
  • Schaumberger Wigg
  • Ernst Mosch and his original child molesters (a parody of Ernst Mosch and his original Egerland musicians)
  • Heinz at the kiosk chatting with Elli ( Monika Gruber ) and, if she's on vacation, with Lilli ( Eva Mähl )
  • The idiot , an archetypal individual who appears in many of his stories, who is characterized by notoriously counterproductive and stupid behavior; the idiot always remains anonymous and it is therefore possible that he is not always the same person
  • Disco Heinz , a pimp who lives on the street
  • Gaggi Stangerl , a fitness trainer who likes a round stomach
  • The Schoaßboandls , a married couple who try to avoid each other

Grünwald's gingerbread law

Grünwald is a declared opponent of selling Christmas cookies before November 9th of each year. He calls it the "Grünwaldsche Lebkuchengesetz" and in one of his broadcasts he demonstratively kept a pack of gingerbread trapped in a cage. A question from the audience prompted him to set the end of the “gingerbread season” on January 9th.

“The placing on the market and consumption of gingerbread and similarly stored Christmas baked goods before November 9th of the respective current year is punished with imprisonment for no less than 4 years. Optionally there are 12 Bockfotzn. "
