Galip Hamarat (born June 8, 1984 in Ankara ) is a Turkish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Gümüş Patenler SK in the Turkish Super League since 2015 .

Career

Galip Hamarat began his career as a hockey player at Büyükşehir Belediyesi Ankara SK . In 2002 he became Turkish national champions with the club from his hometown . From 2003 to 2009 played for the team of the Police Department , which was also based in Ankara . With the budding law enforcement officers, he won the Super League title in every season except in 2007 . He then went to the University Sports Club of Ankara , with which he won his seventh national championship in 2010. From 2011 to 2013 he was then on the ice for the Başkent Yıldızları SK . With his fourth super league club he won his titles number eight and nine. He then temporarily withdrew from the super league and moved to Gümüş Patenler SK in the second Turkish league. He spent the 2014/15 season at Zeytinburnu Belediye SK , with whom he won his tenth championship title. Despite this success, he returned to Gümüş, who had meanwhile been promoted back to the super league, and has played there ever since.

International

In the junior division, Hamarat was on the ice for Turkey for the first time in 2001 at the qualifying tournament for the U18 World Cup . There he and his team succeeded in qualifying for Division III in the following year with a 5-4 win over Iceland , in which he was also used. With the U20 selection of his country, he took part in Division III of the 2004 World Cup.

In the men's national team , Hamarat played at the World Championships in Division II in 2002 , 2005 , 2007 , 2010 , 2013 and 2014 and in Division III in 2004 , 2006 , 2008 , 2009 when he had the best plus / minus balance of the tournament, and 2012 .
