Gary Wallis

Gary Wallis (born June 10, 1964 in Westminster , London ) is a British drummer , percussionist , record producer, programmer and songwriter.

biography

Gary Wallis studied at the London Symphony School of Music . He became known to a wider audience as a live percussionist for Pink Floyd in the post- Waters era. Wallis can be heard and seen on the album Delicate Sound of Thunder or the associated video as well as on the Pulse album and video.

Wallis ensured the right rhythm for Jean Michel Jarre at his legendary Millennium Concert in Egypt and at the Metamorphoses Showcase in Paris.

Wallis also played with Mike & the Mechanics , Nik Kershaw , Spinal Tap , Rod Stewart , Jean Michel Jarre , Style Council and 10cc . He got his nickname "Damage" from musician friends because of the high wear and tear on equipment.

From 2002 to 2004 and again in 2019, Wallis toured Germany with the music project Schiller , including guest vocalists Sarah Brightman and Peter Heppner .

For her 30th stage anniversary, Wallis accompanied Marianne Rosenberg to her exclusive showcase in the Meistersaal in Berlin.

Wallis has worked as a producer for Tom Jones , Paul Carrack and Atomic Kitten , among others . For the band Il Divo he worked both as a live drummer and as a producer.
