Venues Gauliga Hessen 1940/41 (red = group north, blue = group south)
The Gauliga Hessen 1940/41 was the eighth and last season of the Gauliga Hessen (since 1939 officially: "Area Class Hessen") in football. As in the first year of the war, the season was initially held in two seasons, the first-placed ones playing off the Gaumeister. Six teams were planned for both relays, but in the north the SG Hessen Hersfeld withdrew at short notice. In the finals, south group champions Borussia Fulda prevailed against Sport Kassel and moved into the final round of the German championship , where Borussia had no chance.
For the 1941/42 season, the previous division classes 12 ( Hessen ) and 13 ( Southwest ) were reorganized. The new Gauligen Kurhessen , Hessen-Nassau and Westmark emerged from these two large areas . This year's northern group and Borussia Fulda were divided into the Gauliga Kurhessen, the other teams in the southern group, with the exception of the bottom group Langenselbold, were divided into the Gauliga Hessen-Nassau.
