Gebhard Anton von Krosigk (born February 26, 1754 in Hohenerxleben Castle ; † April 16, 1840 there ) was a German civil servant and landowner.

Gebhard Anton von Krosigk came from the von Krosigk noble family . He was the son of Anton Friedrich von Krosigk (born November 17, 1721 in Gröna ; † June 22, 1779 in Hohenerxleben Castle), ducal-Brunswick senior captain and princely-Anhalt state parliament sub-director and his wife Helena Ehrengard (* 17. July 1729 in Eichenbarleben; † September 23, 1771 in Hohenerxleben Castle), b. von Alvensleben, a daughter of Gebhard Johann IV. von Alvensleben (1703–1763), provost of St. Peter and Paul in Magdeburg . His sister was Eleonore Sophie Albertine Wilhelmine von Krosigk (born April 13, 1760 in Eichenbarleben ; † June 28, 1829 in Berlin ), married to Friedrich Gisbert Wilhelm von Romberg (1729-1809), Prussian lieutenant general .

On September 6, 1830 he married Auguste Ernestine Elisabeth (born November 18, 1761 in Emden ; † April 22, 1840 in Hohenerxleben ), a daughter of Alexander Jakob von der Schulenburg . She died on April 22, 1840, six days after his death, they were buried in the family vault .

Career

Gebhard Anton von Krosigk began studying at the University of Halle in 1769 and moved to Ilsenburg in 1771 to study forestry with Hans Dietrich von Zanthier at the first forestry school in Europe .

In 1775 he joined the royal Prussian old Prussian cuirassier regiment "Leibregiment" in Schönebeck as a cornet . During the War of the Bavarian Succession , he went to Bohemia with the Prussian troops under the leadership of Prince Heinrich in 1778 . After his return in 1779, his father died and he inherited the Hohenerxleben and Rathmannsdorf manors . For this reason, he submitted his departure from military service, although King Friedrich II initially refused to release him. It was not until 1780 that, after repeated requests, he was able to retire from active service and take over his property.

In 1787 he was elected district administrator of the Princely Bernburg part of the Anhalt countryside and confirmed by the senior of the Anhalt parent company, Prince Karl Georg Leberecht . In 1795, Gebhard Anton von Krosigk was appointed ancestral councilor for all of Anhalt-Dessau , Anhalt-Zerbst , Anhalt-Köthen and Anhalt-Bernburg .

In 1802 he had the old dilapidated and too small village church of Hohenerxleben demolished and rebuilt from scratch and equipped with an organ that it had not had before.

In 1807 the old west apartment tower in Hohenerxleben Castle was demolished and replaced by a Biedermeier building. The dry trenches in the south and west were filled with the rubble from the demolition.

In 1815 he was appointed head of the Landsturm by his prince in the Duchy of Anhalt-Bernburg. In 1828 he was appointed head of the entire Anhalt scholarship system.
