Kissing in court ( working title : Windscheid versus Windscheid ) is a German comedy film and a love story by director Zoltan Spirandelli from 2006. Fritz Karl plays the main role of the widowed divorce lawyer Herbert Windscheid, who is also a single father of four children.

action

Herbert Windscheid is a successful and very committed lawyer in Berlin who specializes in family law. After the death of his wife, he finally decides to get married again. When he tells his children that he intends to marry the attractive Felicitas Minkowski, he and his chosen one only get shocked looks from the children. They devise a plan to prevent their father from marrying. The children come up with the idea of having their father's marriage forbidden by law, because as the children of a successful lawyer they have often noticed in the past that many things can be achieved through legal action in court. Together, they leaf through long legal texts in their father's library and realize that they need the help of a lawyer.

As a result, they ask for the support of the lawyer Sabrina Brenner, but she is the fiercest competitor of the children's father. The children use clever questions and the prospect of winning a lawsuit against their father to persuade the lawyer to prevent them from marrying the father of the children in search of a reason. For this purpose, an attempt is made to present the chosen one as not legally competent and thus to prevent a marriage, because the lawyer begins to take the children into her heart.

In the course of the preparations for a possible trial, the lawyer Sabrina and Herbert even get closer. Herbert learns from Sabrina that she has no “shoulder to lean on” in her life and offers her his shoulder in the courthouse. Sabrina takes up the offer and, initially reluctant and surprised, leans on Herbert's shoulder.

In the following court proceedings, the lawyer resigns her mandate and hands it over to Herbert, who, with his consent, not only represents his own interests in court, but also those of his children. Thus he is forced to defend his own, upcoming wedding with Felicitas alternately in the judicial questioning, as well as the interests of his children, who intend to prevent exactly this. When Felicitas gets caught up in contradictions in a direct address, the process is ended in favor of his children.

Felicitas leaves the courtroom in a rage after it seems obvious to all those affected by evidence that she only wanted material advantages from her intended marriage with Herbert.

In the courtroom, Herbert expresses his love for the lawyer Sabrina, whereupon the magistrate asks whether the two want to marry. With the jubilant approval of the children and the audience, the two kiss and the judge declares Herbert and Sabrina's marriage legally concluded with the blow of the hammer by virtue of her office and in the name of the people .

Gangloff judges on the pages of the film critic Rainer Tittelbach : "Fritz Karl plays the gentleman in the style of Cary Grant, Susanna Simon is an excellent calculating beast, and Ann-Kathrin Kramer is in her element anyway". His conclusion is: “The children are great too!”.

TV Spielfilm rated it with a thumbs up and stated: “A warm-hearted comedy, the only thing that disturbs the sterile, affluent environment of the old-style villas and luxury penthouses”. The summary of the program guide is: "Harmless, charming entertainment".
