George O. Petrie

George O. Petrie (born November 16, 1912 in New Haven , Connecticut , USA , † November 16, 1997 in Los Angeles , California , USA) was an American actor .

Career

He made his acting debut in 1944. In the years to come, he appeared in films alongside stars like Simone Signoret , Karl Malden , Maureen O'Hara , Natalie Wood and Dana Andrews . He also appeared in numerous television productions. The actor starred as Harvey Smithfield, the lawyer for the Ewing family, on the series Dallas from 1979 to 1991 . In the early years of his career he was known as George Petrie.

The actor was married to Patricia Pope until his death. The marriage has two children. George O'Petrie died on his 85th birthday.
