Gerd Seid

Gerhard Hans Seid (born October 10, 1930 in Heilbronn ; † February 24, 1995 ) was a German actor .

Life

Gerd Seid was initially a primary school teacher , including at the Dammschule in Heilbronn, but then gave up teaching. He received his acting training at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich . Until 1955 he was engaged at the Münchner Kammerspiele . In 1955 he played the title character in Stravinsky's music theater work The Story of the Soldier (director: Günther Rennert / set design: Caspar Neher ), Brother Ladvenu in The Lark by Jean Anouilh and Plantagenet in Elisabeth of England by Ferdinand Bruckner .

From 1956 to 1958 he belonged to the ensemble of the Landestheater Darmstadt under the direction of Rudolf Sellner , where he played Faust in Goethe's Urfaust in a production by Werner Düggelin in the 1957/58 season. From 1959 to 1961 he was a member of the Württemberg State Theater in Stuttgart . In 1961 he played at the Berlin Renaissance Theater , at the side of Lieselotte Rau and Käthe Haack , Hermann in the Goethe adaptation Hermann and Dorothea , which was also recorded for television and went on tour in the winter of 1961/62. In the 1961/62 season he made a guest appearance at the then newly opened comedy in the Bayerischer Hof as young officer Arthur Masham in the comedy Das Glas Wasser , with Adolf Wohlbrück , Chariklia Baxevanos , Susanne von Almassy and Loni von Friedl as partners. In May 1968 he appeared at the 22nd Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen as the title hero in the opening production Troilus und Cressida (director: Heinrich Koch ) with Christine Wodetzky as partner. After various other engagements, he played in the stands in Berlin in 1971/72 .

Between 1978 and 1984 he was engaged several times at the open-air theater in Schwäbisch Hall . In 1980 he was a guest at the Contra-Kreis-Theater in Bonn . In the 1981/82 season he was the Leicester in Maria Stuart in a touring production of the "Münchner Schauspielbühne" with Ellen Schwiers , Maria Caleita , Friedrich Joloff and Hans Elwenspoek as partners. In the 1984/85 season a touring production of the play Das Misunderstanding by Albert Camus followed at the “Münchner Schauspielbühne” , in which Seid played the son Jan at the side of Heidemarie Hatheyer and Maria Caleita. From the 1985/86 season until 1990, Seid appeared regularly at the Contra-Kreis-Theater in Bonn.

Gerd Seid has worked in several TV productions and some movies. He worked u. a. with the directors Harald Braun , Axel von Ambesser , Michael Verhoeven and Wilm ten Haaf . In the two-part TV series Die Nibelungen (1967) based on Hebbel's eponymous tragedy, Seid embodied Siegfried, directed by Wilhelm Semmelroth .
