Gerhard Kielwein (legal scholar)

Gerhard Kielwein (born January 7, 1922 in Stuttgart ; † November 19, 2011 ) was a German legal scholar .

Life

After a doctorate and habilitation in Freiburg , he received a professorship for criminal law and criminology at the Saarland University in 1956 . From 1960 to 1961 he was dean of the law and economics faculty there and rector of the university from 1962 and 1964 . 1986/87 he was entpflichtet .

Kielwein was a member of the Presidium of the West German Rectors' Conference , 1968-1972 President of the German Academic Exchange Service , Vice President of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and member of the SR - Broadcasting Council . From 1975 to 1991 he was also the chairman of the Saarland student union.

For his services he was awarded the Officer's Cross of the French Legion of Honor and honorary membership in the Japanese Society for Criminal Law. In addition, he was made an honorary senator of the Saarland University and awarded him the plaque of merit of the German Student Union .
