Gerhard Rachold
Gerhard Rachold (born September 3, 1928 in Ranis ; † May 18, 1993 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) was a German actor .
life and work
After graduating from high school and training to be an actor, he began as a stage actor on a stage in Weimar in 1947, before moving to Berlin in 1954 through engagements on stages in Stolberg, Staßfurt, Crimmitschau, Erfurt, where he was a member of the ensemble of the Berlin Theater of Friendship until 1960 . From 1960 to 1967 he was part of the DEFA actor ensemble , followed by decades of activity at the Kleist Theater in Frankfurt (Oder) .
Parallel to his stage work, Rachold also played in various film and television productions for DEFA and GDR television . Rachold made his film debut in János Veiczi's film Incident in Benderath in 1956 ; Numerous other films and film genres followed, including so-called “ DEFA Indian films” and children's films, mainly directed by Rolf Losansky .
After the death of his wife, Gerhard Rachold committed suicide on May 18, 1993.
