Giorgi Kiknadze (born June 17, 1982 in Tbilisi , Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic ) is a German jazz musician ( double bass ).

Live and act

Kiknadze comes from a Georgian family of musicians; his father, saxophonist and composer Reso Kiknadze , and his uncle provided his musical instruction at an early age. At first he played the cello , guitar and piano . In 1991 he emigrated to Lübeck with his family. There he graduated from high school in 2002 and in the same year began his studies as a jazz interpreter at the University of Music and Theater Hamburg with Lucas Lindholm , which he successfully completed.

Kiknadze leads his own quartet with Frank Delle , Lukas Klapp and Konrad Ullrich, with whom the album paysage was created ( Unit Records 2019), as well as his trio with Rainer Böhm and Konrad Ullrich, with whom he interprets music from Georgia. With Adrian Hanack, Silvan Strauss, Sven Kerschek and Lukas Klapp he formed the formation HSKKK , which interprets pieces by David Bowie . In 2018 he toured with Anna-Lena Schnabel's quartet . He was also a member of Gabriel Coburgers Pocket Band , Heiko Fischer's band and the Blue Spoons . He also played with musicians such as Till Brönner , Gary Thomas , Ziv Ravitz , Florian Weber , Christian Lillinger , John Schröder , Claus Stötter , Sebastian Gille , Philipp Gropper and Wanja Slavin .
