Gio Sada (* 10. September 1989 in Bari as Giovanni Sada ), also Giosada , is an Italian rock musician who in 2015 by winning the talent show X Factor was known.

Career

Sada grew up in a family of musicians. He started singing at the age of seven and already as a teenager he performed with various bands. He broke off studying Beni Enogastronomici at Aldo Moro University in Bari to devote himself entirely to music. In 2007 he became part of the punk band No Blame , with whom he performed a number of appearances, also outside of Italy. The following year the band released their first EP Keep the Hardcore Elite . Sada later performed with the hardcore punk band Waiting for Better Days , with whom he was also able to open a concert by the Californian band Ignite . In 2012 Waiting for Better Days released the album To Those Who Believe to Be Left Alone on the indie label Indelirium Records .

Sada started his solo career in 2011 with the single Salviamoci . The song was his submission for the online competition Sanremo Social , the preliminary decision for the newcomer category of the Sanremo Festival 2012. In 2013, the singer worked with rapper Walino in the song Tears & Smiles and founded his own band Barismoothsquad . Their first album was released in July 2014. In the summer of 2015, Sada took part in the castings for X Factor as Giosada and made it into the 25+ category , which was supervised by juror Elio . In the final phase he presented the song Il rimpianto di te , which he had written with Pacifico and Alberto Tafuri . On December 10, 2015, Giosada emerged as the winner of the X-Factor finals. The EP Giosada was released the next day .

With a music video for the song Come Away with Me , originally by Norah Jones , in which the singer appears again with his band Barismoothsquad, he initiated the Nowhere Stage project in June 2016 , in which the band plays unplugged in remote and inaccessible places . Barismoothsquad also opened Lukas Graham's two Italy concerts . The single Volando al contrario was released on September 2, 2016, and the album of the same name followed on the 23rd of the month.

In addition to his musical activities, Sada also worked as a theater actor . He made his first film appearance in Dove chi entra urla by Fabrizio Pastore , which was released in Italian cinemas in 2016.
