Giovanni d'Aniello

Giovanni d'Aniello (born January 5, 1955 in Aversa ) is an Italian clergyman , Roman Catholic archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

The Bishop of Aversa , Antonio Cece , ordained him a priest on December 8, 1978 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Titular Archbishop of Pesto and Apostolic Nuncio in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on December 15, 2001 . The Pope personally donated his episcopal ordination on January 6 of the next year; Co-consecrators were Robert Sarah , secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , and Leonardo Sandri , substitute for the State Secretariat .

On September 22, 2010 he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Thailand and Cambodia and Apostolic Delegate in Myanmar and Laos . Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on February 10, 2012 as Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil . On June 1, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Russia .
