The Gmina Górzyca [ guˈʒɨʦa ] is a rural community in the powiat Słubicki of the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the village of the same name , the former German town of Göritz (Oder) , with around 1500 inhabitants.

geography

The community has an area of ​​145.5 km² and extends over a hill on the right bank of the Oder between Frankfurt (Oder) and Kostrzyn nad Odrą ( German Küstrin ). Your neighboring community on the left bank of the Oder is Reitwein .

history

Part of the former municipal area to the left of the Oder was separated in 1945 and remained with Germany. Today it belongs to Reitwein.
