The Gmina Rzepin ( German Reppen ) is a town-and-country municipality in the powiat Słubicki of the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . It has about 9,900 inhabitants and its seat is the city of the same name with around 6,600 inhabitants.
geography
The community lies in the Neumark . It borders the municipality of the district town Słubice (Frankfurt (Oder) -Dammvorstadt) in the west . The extensive forests of the Puszcza Rzepińska (Reppener Heide) with the river Ilanka (Eilang) occupy more than half (51%) of their area of 191 km², 40 percent are used for agriculture.
history
The urban-and-rural municipality of Rzepin has existed since 1975.
Between 1945 and 1958 Rzepin (until 1949 Rypin Lubuski ) was the seat of a Powiat . Until 1954, the rural communities Rypin Lubuski / Rzepin and Kowalów existed in the current municipality area. After the dissolution of the Gromadas , the rural community of Kowalów was founded in 1973, which in 1975 became part of the urban-and-rural community of Rzepin.
