The Gmina Wiślica is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Buski of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name with 503 inhabitants (2016). Wiślica was the smallest city in Poland in 2018. The community has a total of about 5600 inhabitants, who are spread over 20 villages.
geography
The municipality is located in the south of the voivodeship. One of the waters is the Nida , which is a tributary to the Vistula , which flows southeast of the municipality's borders . There are numerous ponds in the east of the municipality. 85 percent of the area with 100.32 km² is used for agriculture, 3 percent is forest.
history
The municipality has existed since 1951, until then Wiślica was the seat of Gmina Chotel . From 1975 to 1998 the municipality was part of the Kielce Voivodeship. When Wiślica was granted city rights on January 1, 2018, the municipality received its current status. For a year, its main town was the smallest city in Poland by population, then it was replaced by Opatowiec .
Wiślica was a town of national importance in the 14th to 16th centuries.

The municipal area includes parts of the Nida Landscape Park and the nature reserves Góry Wschodnie and Przęślin .
