Golina [ gɔ'ljina ] ( German 1940–1945 Gohlen am Warthe , older also Gollin ) is a city in Poland in the Greater Poland Voivodeship in the powiat Koniński .
history
The Golina settlement has been known since the 14th century. The settlement received town charter in 1330. In 1362 town charter was confirmed. During the second partition of Poland , the city became part of Prussia in 1793. With the formation of the Duchy of Warsaw in 1807, Golina became part of it and in 1815 part of the newly formed Congress Poland . In 1857 it was connected to the rail network. In 1870 the place lost its town charter and was only given back after the First World War in 1921. During the Second World War , the place was occupied by the Germans in September 1939. On 17./18. July 1940 the city's Jews were to Zagórów and in the ghettos of the villages Grodziec and Rzgów deported . The occupation lasted until 1945. Then the city became part of Poland again.

The most important attraction of the place is the wooden church James the Younger , which was built between 1765 and 1767.

A little north of Golina is the Spławie stop, a good bit east of the Kawnice stop on the Warszawa – Poznań railway line .
Golina is on state road 92 ( droga krajowa 92 ). In a westerly direction it leads after about 15 kilometers through Słupca , in an easterly direction after about six kilometers through Konin . Furthermore, the 467 Voivodeship Road ( droga wojewódzka 467 ) begins in Golina . This runs in a southerly direction and after about seven kilometers crosses the A2 autostrada with the Sługocin slip road .
The nearest international airport is Poznań-Ławica Airport , which is about 90 kilometers to the west.
