As part of the Goodwill Games 2001 , two triathlon competitions were held on September 2, 2001 .

The Goodwill Games were an international sporting competition that was held five times between 1986 and 2001.

The triathlon competitions were over the Olympic distance: 1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running.
