Gröst is a district of the city of Müuellen (Geiseltal) in the Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Gröst is located between Naumburg (Saale) and Halle (Saale) near the border with the Burgenland district . It is located in the Saale-Unstrut region . In 1948, Almsdorf, about 1 km to the east, was incorporated. On January 1, 2006, Gröst and Almsdorf were incorporated into Müelte.

history

In a register of the tithe of the Hersfeld monastery , which was created between 881 and 899, Gröst is mentioned for the first time in a document as the place of the tithe Crodesti im Friesenfeld . Until 1815 the place belonged to the Wettin , later Electoral Saxon office of Freyburg . Regular events

The Almsdorf fair always takes place on the penultimate weekend in August. Furthermore, every year there is a sports festival and a three-day Whitsun festival with a regular, solemn parade in the village. There is also an equally classic Easter bonfire every year.
