Grave whispers - Love displaced coffins is a comedy by Nick Hurran from the year 2002 .
action
The good-natured, naive Betty Rhys-Jones, who lives in the small town of Wrottin-Powys in Wales, takes care of her vicious bedridden mother-in-law until she suffocates on cornflakes. Her selfish husband Hugh is a councilor and has an affair with his secretary Meredith. Undertaker Boris Plots has been in love with Betty for decades.
The American Frank Featherbed is trying to stir up the market for funeral services in the region with discount prices and high-profile promotions. He also organizes unusual funeral services.
When asked, Betty confesses to Boris that she is unhappy in her marriage and begins an affair with him. He develops a plan for Betty to break free from their marriage so that they can both leave the country. He wants to fake her death. At a dance event, with the help of the local doctor, he staged Betty's “fatal” fall and secured the order for the burial. When she is openly laid out, Meredith confesses to her trying to poison her at the dance event and Hugh tells the alleged corpse about his adulteries and his joy at being able to consume her life insurance. Then Betty takes the plan to take revenge on her unfaithful husband and his lover as a ghost. With the help of Boris, Frank and his assistants this succeeds.
