Gratzungen is a district of the town of Bleicherode in the Nordhausen district in Thuringia .

The place is 250 meters above sea level. The surrounding terrain is wavy and hilly. On almost all sides the place is surrounded by forests, which consist of a coppice with individual oaks and a birch wood . The climate is harsh, the annual mean temperature is 7.4 degrees Celsius. The village is located on a colorful clay mountain of sandstone formation. The soil consists of sandy loam, is more wet than dry and is dependent in the north.
Waters
The Bliedebach , a right tributary of the Helme, flows through the district .
history
On 25/26 July 1184 the village was first mentioned in a document. A typical small farming village - the small farmers cultivated 350 hectares around 1850. In 1755 the current church was built in place of a previous church.
On July 1, 1950, the community of Friedrichsthal was created through the merger of the previous communities Bliedungen and Gratzungen.
