Gregory Stephen Paslawski (born August 25, 1961 in Kindersley , Saskatchewan ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played 710 games for the Canadiens de Montréal , St. Louis Blues , Winnipeg Jets , Buffalo Sabers during his active career between 1979 and 1996 , Nordiques de Québec , Philadelphia Flyers and Calgary Flames in the National Hockey League on the position of right winger .
Career
Paslawski spent between 1979 and 1981 a profitable junior career with the Prince Albert Raiders in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League , where he played 117 games during this time and scored 164 points . However, the then 19-year-old was from the franchises of the National Hockey League unnoticed and therefore remained ungedraftet .
The striker therefore joined the Canadiens de Montréal from the National Hockey League as a free agent in the summer of 1981 . This put him in the following two seasons up to the summer of 1983 with their farm team , the Nova Scotia Voyageurs from the American Hockey League . For the 1983/84 season Paslawski managed to get a regular place in the NHL squad of the Canadiens and played 26 games for the French Canadians by December 1983. Shortly before Christmas he was transferred to the St. Louis Blues together with Gilbert Delorme and Doug Wickenheiser , while Perry Turnbull moved to the Canadiens. The attacker found a new sporting home in St. Louis for the next five and a half seasons. After two initially mixed game years, Paslawski achieved the breakthrough in the course of the Stanley Cup playoffs in 1986 , when he posted as many scorer points in 17 playoff games. The 1986/87 season he finally ended with Karrierebestwerten in all relevant offensive categories. So he scored 29 goals and prepared another 35. After he only made 17 season appearances in the season 1987/88 due to a back injury suffered in November 1987, he celebrated a respectable comeback in the season 1988/89 with 52 points.
Still, the Blues split from their long-time team member in the summer of 1989 when he was transferred to the Winnipeg Jets . While with him a third-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 1981 moved to Winnipeg, the Blues received a third-round vote in the same draft as well as a second-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft 1991 . With the move to Winnipeg, Paslawski began a period of many changes within the league. After playing for a year and a half in Winnipeg, he was sold to the Buffalo Sabers in February 1991 . With the Sabers he finished the 1990/91 season . The twelve missions for Buffalo remained due to the selection by the San Jose Sharks in the NHL Dispersal and Expansion Draft 1991 the only ones. Just one day after the draft, Paslawski left the newly founded franchise, as he moved to the Nordiques de Québec in exchange for Tony Hrkac . The now 30-year-old winger only played one season there. In the summer of 1992 he joined the Philadelphia Flyers as a free agent . There, too, he found no sporting home and was involved in the next transfer deal as early as March 1993. The Calgary Flames secured his services for the remainder of the 1992/93 season and the following in exchange for a nine- round vote in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft .
After he had completed his first games for the Peoria Rivermen in the International Hockey League in the 1993/94 season as a player for the Flames , he let his career end there by the summer of 1996. After the 1995/96 playing year , he ended his professional career at the age of 35.
