history

The exact date of the origin is not known, but excavations from 1934 suggest that it was built in the 3rd or 4th century AD. In 1131, the village was first mentioned in a document from the Riechenberg monastery near Goslar .

On February 1, 1971, Groß Bülten was merged with five other communities to form the new community of Ilsede.

The village has a Protestant church. A large part of the population is Protestant. The Roman Catholic residents belong to the St. Bernward parish in Groß Ilsede.

Culture and sights

Among the buildings of interest in the village are the primary school Groß Bülten, the inn Solschener Straße, the Evangelical Holy Spirit Church on Solschener Straße and the lion monument.

In Groß Bülten there are two parks, the mining park and the former sports field.

At the onshore pond Groß Bülten-Adenstedt there is the opportunity to observe rare water birds and to take long walks.
