Location of Klein Ilsede in Ilsede

Klein Ilsede is a village in the municipality of Ilsede in the Peine district , Lower Saxony . The village is about 5 km south of Peine and 1 km north of Groß Ilsede .

history

A grave field from the Bronze Age around 1000 BC is located northeast near Klein Ilsede in the Gräwig forest , where a memorial stone was erected.

Klein Ilsede was first mentioned in 1345 as "Lütteken Ilsede". The name of the village has changed over the centuries from "luttiken ylsede" or "Lütteken Ilsede" (1345), "lutteke Ilsede" (1360) or Latin as "minori ylsede" (1356) to forms such as "Lüttken Ilsede" ( 1458), "Lütken Ilsede" (1463), "Lütken Ilse" (1615), "Lütteken Ilsen" (1635), "Kleinen Ilsede" (1669), "Kleinen Ilse" or "Kleine Ilsede" (18th century) "Klein Ilsede" (19th century) and "Klein Ilsede" or "Kleinilsede" (from 1900) changed.

The place used to be the place of jurisdiction of the von Schwicheldt family for the Schwicheldt estate. An extensive archive is still available there today. On this basis, a particularly large amount of information could flow into the Klein Ilseder Ortschronik. A certificate from 1321 , issued by "Johann, Hugo and Ernestus de Ilsede", shows in the attached seal a wolf rising to the right , which the former municipality of Klein Ilsede, now part of the municipality of Ilsede, has adopted in its coat of arms . but turned to the left.

Klein Ilsede is one of the few places in the southern district of Peine where the succession of owners at the farms has almost always remained in the families. In recent decades, new residential areas have been developed and moved into in Klein Ilsede. The change to a residential area with favorable transport connections is particularly evident in this town.

On February 1, 1971, Klein Ilsede was merged with five other communities to form the new community of Ilsede.
