The large wood is a nature conservation area (NSG) in the district of Meissen in Saxony . The 14.65  ha area with the NSG no. D 28 is located west of Schleinitz , a district of the Saxon town of Nossen and east of the S 32 state road .

The nature reserve was established by order no. 1 on nature reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, Registration and Forestry (MfLEF) of March 30, 1961 (GBl.II GDR p. 166).
