The Seusslitzer and Gauernitzer Grunds form a nature reserve (NSG) in the district of Meißen in Saxony . The total area of 357 ha with the NSG no. D 02 consists of two separate areas. One area, the Seusslitzer Grunds, lies to the right and east of Diesbar-Seusslitz , a district of the Saxon community of Nünchritz . The other area, the Gauernitzer Grunds, lies to the left and between the villages of Gauernitz and Scharfenberg in the Saxon community of Klipphausen .
The nature reserve was established by an ordinance of the Meißen District Office of December 17, 2013 (SächsGVBl. 2014 p. 26).

Parts of the nature reserve are part of the following FFH areas :
- No. 4545-301 Elbe Valley between Schöna and Mühlberg
- No. 4746-301 Seusslitzer grounds
- No. 4846-302 Valleys on the left bank of the Elbe between Dresden and Meißen
Furthermore, parts of the nature reserve are included in the following European bird sanctuaries :
- No. 4545-452 Elbe Valley between Schöna and Mühlberg
- No. 4747-451 Seusslitzer Elbhügelland and Golk
- No. 4647-451 Left Elbe stream valleys
