The Linzer Wasser is a nature reserve (NSG) in the district of Meißen in Saxony .
Location and description
The 162.60 hectare area with the NSG no. D 107 extends in a valley to the south and east of the Linz location , a district of the Schönfeld municipality , from Galgenberg in a north direction to the edge of the Kraussnitz location .
The area includes the headwaters of the Linz water with a number of extensively used ponds. Fresh, moist and wet meadows are different habitat structures between the ponds as Riede , reedbeds , Hochstaudenfluren, damp thickets, breakage , marsh , floodplain and acidophilous oak mixed forests.
There is also a healthy old population of European silver fir trees ( Abies alba ) in the area, which should be promoted and preserved. Another protection purpose is the preservation and promotion of a mass population of broad-leaved orchid ( Dactylorhiza majalis ).
The ponds in the area are the ladies pond, the two gentlemen ponds, the large and small zoo pond, the upper and lower Zeisigteich, the desert pond, the Finkenmühlteich and Ringels pond.
The nature reserve was established by an ordinance issued by the Meißen district office on January 14, 2010 (SächsGVBl. P. 29). Parts of the nature reserve are part of the FFH area no. 4648-303 "Linzer Wasser und Kieperbach ".
