The goat bush slopes near Oberau are a nature reserve (NSG) in the district of Meißen in Saxony . The 20  hectare area with the NSG no. D 29 is located west of Gohlis and north of the eponymous Oberau , two districts of the municipality of Niederau .

The nature reserve was established by order no. 1 on nature reserves of March 30, 1961 (Journal of the GDR II, p. 166). With an ordinance of the Dresden regional council of November 26th, 1999 (SächsABl. P. 1117) the area protection was transferred into federal German law. This ordinance was last amended on April 13, 2007 (SächsABl. Sonderdr. S. S298).

The nature reserve is part of the FFH area no. 4847-301 "Forest ponds near Mistschänke and Ziegenbusch" and the landscape protection area "Friedewald, Moritzburger Teichgebiet und Lößnitz".

The purpose of protection is particularly the conservation, sustainable protection and development of elsbeerenreichen wood bedstraw -Hainbuchen-oak forest, deciduous forest areas, dry grassland , Kalkäckern and species-rich orchards with a high proportion of dead wood caves and trees.
