Gruppa A (Soviet Union) 1936

The Gruppa A 1936 was the first season of the highest Soviet football league. It took place in two independent phases, a spring and an autumn championship. The game was played from May 22 to July 17, 1936 and from September 5 to October 30, 1936.

The seven participating teams each played against each other once. After six match days, the champions were certain. All teams remained top notch in the following fall season. There were three points for a win, two points for a draw and one point for a loss. There was no point for not showing up.
