The Vysschaya League 1974 was the 36th season of the highest Soviet football league. It began on April 12 and ended on November 21, 1974.

Dynamo Kiev won the Soviet football championship for the sixth time, one point ahead of Spartak Moscow.

    After the season

    From Pervaya league in 1973 rose Nistru Kishinev in Moldova and FC Chornomorets Odesa in the Ukraine. With the 1974 championship Dinamo Kiev qualified for the 1975/76 European Cup. There they failed in the quarterfinals at AS Saint-Étienne .
