The Wysschaja Gruppa A 1970 was the 32nd season of the highest Soviet football league. It started on March 8th and ended on December 6th, 1970.

The two equal points CSKA Moscow and Dynamo Moscow made the championship title among themselves. The winner was only determined in the replay. After going 0-0 in their first game, CSKA Moscow won the Soviet football championship 4-3 for the sixth time.
