The Klass A 1952 was the 14th season of the highest Soviet football league. It began on July 20 and ended on October 7, 1952.
Spartak Moscow won the Soviet football championship for the fourth time with three points ahead of Dynamo Kiev . Due to the late start of the season, the teams only played against each other once. Except for Zenit Leningrad against Dynamo Leningrad (in Leningrad) and Dynamo Leningrad against Dynamo Moscow in (Kiev), all games took place in Moscow. The last four teams were relegated.
Defending champion ZDSA Moscow was taken out of the ranking after three games. The Soviet ruler Josef Stalin had the club dissolved on August 18, 1952 because of "serious damage to the reputation of Soviet sport". This was preceded by the defeat against Yugoslavia in the round of 16 of the 1952 Summer Olympics . The ZDSA formed the core of the Sbornaja .
