Grzegorz Gajdus

Grzegorz Gajdus (born January 16, 1967 in Skórcz ) is a former Polish marathon runner .

In 1991 he became national champion in the 20 km road race , in 1992 and 1994 over 10,000 m .

In 1992 he won the Maratona d'Italia . In 1993 he finished third and in 1994 fifth in the London Marathon . At the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1994 he came in 17th place. With a third place at the Venice Marathon in 1995, he qualified for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, where he finished 61st.

In 1996 he won the half marathon of the Las Vegas Marathon . A second place at the Eindhoven Marathon was followed by a fourth place in 1997. In 1998 he finished eighth in the Paris Marathon , second in the Vienna City Marathon and won in Eindhoven. In 1999 he was third in the Lake Biwa marathon , became military world champion in Zagreb and fifth in the Route du Vin .

In 2002 he finished second in Eindhoven, and in 2003 he set the current Polish record there as fourth with 2:09:23 h. In 2005 he won the Warsaw Marathon , in 2005 and 2006 the Solidarność Marathon.

He is currently coaching Monika Drybulska and other athletes at WKS Grunwald Poznań .
