Hammern is a village in the Mengersgereuth-Hammern district of the Frankenblick community in the Sonneberg district in Thuringia .

location

Hammern is located in the Effelder valley on the southern edge of the Thuringian Slate Mountains , which merges seamlessly into the street village of Mengersgereuth in the south . To the south-east is the place Forschengereuth on the slope of the 719 meter high mountain Oberschaar .

history

Hammering was first mentioned in a document in 1441.

On January 1, 2012, Hammern became part of the Frankenblick community as part of the merger of the municipalities of Effelder-Rauenstein and Mengersgereuth-Hammern .
