Mengersgereuth is a village in the Mengersgereuth-Hämmern district of the Frankenblick community in the Sonneberg district in Thuringia .
location
Mengersgereuth is located in the Effelder valley on the southern edge of the Thuringian Slate Mountains , which merge seamlessly with the Hammern part in the north of the municipality . To the south-east is the place Forschengereuth on the slope of the mountain Oberschaar 719 meters above sea level .
history
Mengersgereuth was first mentioned in a document between 1358 and 1362.
The Church of the Redeemer was consecrated in 1729.
On January 1, 2012 Mengersgereuth became part of the Frankenblick community as part of the merger of the communities of Effelder-Rauenstein and Mengersgereuth-Hammern .
