Höllbächli after the confluence of the Hellbächlis

The Hollbächli rises in the Büel corridor at about 605  m above sea level. M. overturned under a field directly at the intersection of Birmensdorferstrasse and Wasserfallenstrasse near the Lieli district between the Englisächer settlement in the north and the Rütenen settlement in the south and west. A 300 meter long clean water pipe has been laid above the spring, which drains the eastern half of the Lieli district on a slope . The water in this area, which has only been built on since the 1970s, used to flow westwards over the Schulwegbach to the Rummelbach .

After a 300-meter-long creek to the northeast, the Hollbächli comes to the surface for the first time in a narrow strip of forest. At the same time, on its east-northeast course, it flows through a small ravine at the beginning and after an open run of around 100 meters through the Aargau reaches the canton border, where the narrow forest now merges into the Hell forest area . It flows into the Wasserfallenbächli from the right , before the brook in the Höllhölzli forest area takes in the Chlingentalbächli from the left , which brings the most water to the Höllbächli.

The Höllbächli now flows in three small arches for around 90 meters to the east, in order to accommodate the short and steep Hellbächli from the right. It continues to flow to the east-northeast and then turns to the northeast at Gruehalden , where it now runs on the left-hand side just within the edge of the forest. It follows on the right bank of the Langacher , which lies in a cleared area between the dense but narrow forests on the Höllbächli and Lunnerenbach. Here the brook takes on the Rütirainbach and the overturned Hinteraltenbergbach from the left and turns briefly to the east before flowing in a zigzag to the southeast.

Finally the Höllbächli flows out at 510  m above sea level. M. southeast of the hamlet Hinteraltenberg from the left into the middle course of the Lunnerenbach coming from the Gruenhaldentobel .

Catchment area

The catchment area of the Höllbächlis measures 1.36 km², 59.1% of which is agricultural area, 27.9% wooded area and 12.9% settlement area. The highest point is 676  m above sea level. M. at the reservoir in the forest area Oberholz above Lieli, the average altitude is 594  m above sea level. M. It is spread mainly on the town Birmensdorf, small parts in the upper reaches attributable to the Commune Oberwil-Lieli.

In the west is the catchment area of the Rummelbach and in the north that of the Malefizgraben and that of the Tobelbach , all of which feed their water to the Reppisch .
