HMS Saga (P257) was a submarine of the British Royal Navy . The Saga was a boat from the fourth batch of the successful S-Class ; this construction lot is also known as the subtle class . The boat was laid down on April 5, 1944 at Cammell Laird in Birkenhead, northwest England , launched on March 14, 1945 and was put into service by the Royal Navy on June 14, 1945.

The boat collided on October 2, 1946 in the English Channel with the trawler Girl Lena , who sank as a result of the accident.

The Portuguese Navy took over the saga on October 11, 1948 and renamed it Náutilo . The Náutilo was placed in reserve in 1969.
