HMS Surf was a submarine of the British Royal Navy in World War II .

history

The Surf ( . English : Surf ) was a boat of the third construction lot of the successful S-Class ; this lot is also known as the Seraph class . She was in on February 1, 1941 Cammell Laird in the North West of England Birkenhead issued, expired on 20 December 1942 from the stack and is provided by the Royal Navy on 18 March 1943 in service.

The submarine was used in 1943 in the Mediterranean and later in the Asian theater of war.

On October 25, 1943, the Surf damaged the German auxiliary patrol boat GA 54 / Chiaros with the deck gun east of the Greek island of Amorgos . She torpedoed and sank the German freighter Sonia (ex French SNA 9 ; 2719  GRT ) south of Limnos (Greece) on December 9, 1943 . On March 5, 1944, the boat sank a Japanese tug and a barge off Aroa . On March 5, 1944, the Surf laid sea ​​mines on Malakka Street .

The Surf was sold for scrapping on October 28, 1949 and scrapped in Faslane-on-Clyde in July 1950 .
