HMS Sea Devil (P244) was a submarine of the British Royal Navy in World War II and after.
history
The Sea Devil ( English: Seeteufel ) was a boat of the third batch of the successful S-Class ; this lot is also known as the Seraph class . She was laid down on May 5, 1943 at Scott's Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. in Greenock, West Scotland , launched on January 30, 1945, and entered service by the Royal Navy on May 12, 1945.
The boat remained in active service with the Royal Navy after the war. It was shut down on June 4, 1962, sold for scrapping on December 15, 1962 and then demolished in Newhaven .
The Sea Devil was the last S-class submarine used by the Royal Navy. The Portuguese and Israeli navies continued to use boats of the class until the early 1970s.
