Halfdan Hegtun
Halfdan Hegtun (* 18th October 1918 in Raufoss , municipality Vestre Toten , † 25. December 2012 ) was a Norwegian philologist , author , radio -, sports - and foreign - Reporter , comedian and from 1965 to 1973 eight years deputy in the Storting , the Norwegian parliament .
Life
Hegtun went through elementary and middle school from 1924 to 1934 in his place of birth. He then received further training in Gjøvik until 1937 on the Latin branch of the municipal høyere almenskole . Cand. phil. he became in 1946 at the University of Oslo in history with the minor subjects Norwegian and German.
In 1949 he began his career at Norsk rikskringkasting , the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK), which took him to the chair of program director from 1973 to 1981 . As reporters, his compatriots especially remembered his reports from the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne . Among other things, he reported on the first victory of a Norwegian Olympic athlete at the summer games there after 36 years, the javelin thrower Egil Danielsen , or the bronze medal win of the 800 m runner Audun Boysen . Four years earlier he had been behind the microphone at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo .
In 1954 he reported on the funeral of Crown Princess Märtha and in 1957 on the funeral of King Haakon .
Politically, Hegtun initially tied to the socially liberal Venstre . For them he ran successfully in the parliamentary elections in Norway in 1965 in the Akershus constituency and was able to win the seat again in 1969 . In the middle of his second legislative period in 1972, however, after the split up of Venstre, he changed his parliamentary group to the Liberal People's Party - Det Liberale Folkepartiet . In addition to participating in various committees, he was also a member of parliamentary delegations to NATO , the Interparliamentary Union and the Council of Europe . In 1988, Hegtun led the reunification negotiations, so returned to Venstre and was then active in local politics in Bærum . From 1983 to 1991 he was also a member of the Fylkesting of what was then Akershus Province.
As an author, Hegtun appeared on various occasions under the pseudonym Even Brattbakken , as well as under this name as a comic figure on the radio.
Awards
Halfdan Hegtun received the Kongens fortjenstmedalje , the Royal Norwegian Merit Medal in gold , from King Harald V on February 2, 2010 .
