Tatenberg ( Low German : Totenbarg / Tatenbarg ) is a Hamburg district in the Bergedorf district and was first mentioned in 1315 under the name "Tadekenberghe". Tade is a derivation of the term Tiet or Diet with the meaning of people . It was to 1630 separated from Ochsenwerder dikes , since a branch of the Bille , the internal Rehden , places separated from each other.

The name as a symbol

The play The Second Existence of Tatenberg Camp by French director Armand Gatti in 1964 made the place famous. In his film L'Enclos (The Shack) Gatti also used Tatenberg as a place name.
