Hanna Legatis

Hanna Legatis (* 1953 ) is a German journalist , actress and reciter . Legatis worked for NDR television from 1992 to 2016 . From 2012 to 2018 she was co- editor of the Asphalt magazine , which is sold on the street by the long-term unemployed.

Hanna Legatis is the daughter of the doctor Gerd Legatis and Eva-Maria Legatis, b. Lilje, a daughter of Hanns Lilje , the former regional bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church of Hanover . She grew up at the time of the economic miracle in the capital of Lower Saxony and was brought up “in the field of tension between science and the church”. She broke off attending a girls' high school and traveled to Afghanistan and Amsterdam. “I wanted to be free and decide on my own. Our questions were: How can you change society? How can you live? ”In 1972 she participated in the founding of the independent youth center Kornstrasse in the Nordstadt district of Hanover, which, along with the other independent youth center in Glocksee, is the oldest institution of its kind in Germany.

Hanna Legatis initially worked as a journalist for the Evangelical newspaper for the churches in Lower Saxony , then on radio for the Evangelical Church Radio Lower Saxony (ekn), and then as a political editor for Radio ffn and Norddeutscher Rundfunk . She gained her first experience in television at the private broadcaster Sat.1 before moving to public service broadcasting at NDR television in 1992 . Your first own radio report there was about " Neo-Nazis in East Friesland ".

In 1997 she was a presenter in the series Hallo Niedersachsen of the NDR; from 1999 to 2005 she hosted the talk show Tacheles on NDR. Until 2003 she was the director of the Göttingen NDR studio, from 2003 to 2005 she directed the NDR studio in Osnabrück and then moved to the NDR broadcasting center in Hanover.

Hanna Legatis and Heiko Geiling edited the street magazine Asphalt (today: Rainer Müller-Brandes) from the beginning of 2012 to the end of 2018 , which was founded and directed in 1994 by Pastor Walter Lampe . As a motivation, she added: "For a good rebellion you have to think and get to the bottom of the matter."

In the meantime, Hanna Legatis had discovered her dream job, acting. She plays at the Hannover Chamber of Commerce at the Klecks-Theater , an independent theater in the Alten Magazin , and at the Staatstheater Braunschweig . In 2005 she became a member of the ensemble at the Berlin improvisation theater Goethes Erben . Legatis is committed to the theater initiative Bühnensturm together with her partner Martin-G. Kunze, the actor and former editor-in-chief of Protestant Church Radio, and the director, dramaturge, actress and theater pedagogue Johanna Kunze. With the jazz formation Jordu she presents jazz and poetry evenings, and Legatis occasionally also appears in front of the audience with readings .

Hanna Legatis has a daughter, Rosa Legatis (* 1975), who also worked as a radio and online journalist for the NDR and as a presenter. Hanna and Rosa Legatis have been giving readings together since 2014.
