Hans-Joachim Pochstein , also: Hansjoachim Pochstein (born October 30, 1952 , † June 5, 1991 ) was a German football player . The offensive player played 99 league games at VfL Bochum from 1974 to 1979 in the Bundesliga and scored six goals.

career

The striker began his career at BV Brambauer , rose in the 1973/74 season with the club from Lünen from the stadium at the outdoor pool to the Association League Westphalia and was brought into the Bundesliga squad by VfL Bochum for the 1974/75 season. VfL signed the players Klaus Franke , Paul Holz , Gisbert Horsthemke and Josef Kaczor as further newcomers . With the new additions, the loss of striker Hans Walitza should be compensated for. Pochstein made his Bundesliga debut on the 5th matchday of the 1974/75 season when he was substituted on for Heinz-Werner Eggeling in Bochum's 2-0 defeat by Eintracht Braunschweig . With Eggeling (21/2) he took turns as the second tip at the side of the ten-time goalscorer “Jupp” Kaczor in the attack tip and completed 16 Bundesliga games (1 goal) in his debut year. The 1.71 m tall and lean attacker was a preparer across the wing and reached the side of goalkeeper Werner Scholz , defenders Dieter Versen , Hartmut Fromm , Michael Eggert , midfield players Werner Balte , Michael Lameck , Franz-Josef Tenhagen and the Strikers Eggeling and Kaczor under coach Heinz Höher came 11th.

In his second and third seasons at VfL Bochum, 1975/76 and 1976/77, the attacker belonged to the castropper road team with 31/3 and 32/1 appearances and goals respectively. In both rounds, however, VfL fought heavily to stay in the league. In the 1975/76 season, Harry Ellbracht and Holger Trimhold were joined by two newcomers to strengthen the squad, but in 1976/77 Matthias Herget was only one newcomer who could be considered reinforcement. Since the Höher team had four cracks under contract in the 1975/76 attack with Balte, Eggeling, Kaczor and Pochstein, Hermann Gerland was retrained as a right defender and the striker Horst Hrubesch, who had tried out in Bochum, was rejected. In the 1976/77 season there was a memorable home game against FC Bayern Munich on September 18, 1976. In the 53rd minute, Pochstein gave VfL a 4-0 lead with a goal, and the success against Bayern Munich seemed within reach. At the final whistle, Bayern cheered, they had been able to turn the game 6: 5.

When Dieter Bast and Lothar Woelk, two top performers, had joined the squad in the 1977/78 season, Pochstein took turns with Dieter Schwemmle as the second head at Hans-Joachim Abel's side . In his fifth year at Bochum he was only a supplementary player and only made six other Bundesliga appearances. Abel and Eggeling were set in attack and behind them coach Höher relied on a reinforced midfield. After five rounds in Bochum in the Bundesliga, Pochstein returned to his home club BV Brambauer in Lünen in the Westphalia Association for the 1979/80 season.
