Dieter Schwemmle (born July 28, 1949 in Stuttgart ) is a former German soccer player . The offensive player played a total of 79 league games for the clubs VfB Stuttgart , Kickers Offenbach and VfL Bochum from 1972 to 1978 in the Bundesliga , scoring 13 goals. With Twente Enschede he was runner-up in the Eredivisie in 1973/74 .
career
He began his career with the amateurs of VfB Stuttgart, with whom he won the championship in the Amateur League North Württemberg in 1970/71 and then advanced to the final in the competition for the German amateur championship . The final was lost on July 10, 1971 in Würzburg with 0: 1 against defending champion SC Jülich 1910 . Goalkeeper legend Günter Sawitzki played in goal, Gerd Komorowski defended, Karl Berger , Wolfgang Frank , Werner Haaga and Schwemmle were on the offensive. For the 1972/73 season he was included in the professional squad of VfB.
The player squad team coached by Hermann Eppenhoff were still Dieter Brenninger , Herward Koppenhöfer , Hermann Lindner , Norbert Siegmann and goalkeeper talent helmut roleder fed. The technician on the right wing made his debut on the first round matchday, September 16, 1972, in a 3-1 home win against 1. FC Köln in the Bundesliga. He formed the VfB attack with Wolfgang Frank and Dieter Brenninger. Together with the attacking midfielders Horst Köppel , Hans Ettmayer and Karl-Heinz Handschuh they formed the third strongest offensive of the round 1972/73 . VfB surprisingly finished 6th and thus qualified for the 1973/74 UEFA Cup. Bundesliga debut Schwemmle played in 33 league games and scored six goals. The Stuttgart Presidium did not manage to keep the two offensive talents Frank and Schwemmle at VfB, both players moved to the Netherlands for the 1973/74 round; Schwemmle to FC Twente Enschede and Frank to AZ Alkmar.
With the team from the stadium Het Diekman , the Stuttgart under coach Antoine Kohn and alongside teammates such as Epi Drost , Eddy Achterberg , Jan Jeuring , Cees van Ierssel and Frans Thijssen, the runner-up in the Eredivisie in 1973/74 . Schwemmle had scored six goals in 31 league games. But Schwemmle also ended his successful guest appearance in Enschede after just one round, he was drawn back to the Bundesliga and signed a new contract with Kickers Offenbach for the 1974/75 season. With the team from Bieberer Berg under coach Otto Rehhagel, Schwemmle started the season with a bang: On the first day of the match, the OFC received FC Bayern Munich on August 24, 1974 with the newly decorated "world champions" Sepp Maier , Franz Beckenbauer , Paul Breitner , Georg Schwarzenbeck , Uli Hoeneß and Gerd Müller . In a furious assault, Offenbach outclassed the clearly favored Bavarians 6-0. The offensive qualities of the attacking midfielder Schwemmle and the top three Norbert Janzon , Erwin Kostedde and Sigfried Held clearly prevailed on this match day. At the end of the round, Offenbach finished 8th and Schwemmle had scored seven goals in 31 league appearances. But this station, which was clearly good in terms of sport, only lasted the Swabian for one season, after twelve months he moved on again, now his path has taken him to Switzerland.
Schwemmle moved to the round 1975/76 for FC Biel-Bienne, but rose with the club as bottom of the table from the NLA. It went directly to AC Bellinzona, with whom he could not prevent relegation to the NLB in 1976/77 after the relegation round. With a contract for the 1977/78 season with VfL Bochum, he returned to the Bundesliga in the summer of 1977. He made his debut for VfL on August 17, 1977 in a 5-0 home win against Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga. But he had lost his foolproofness; at the end of the round he had not been able to score a goal in 15 league appearances under coach Heinz Höher and alongside teammates like Dieter Bast , Hans-Joachim Abel , Paul Holz , Franz-Josef Tenhagen and Holger Trimhold .
In the following two positions at FC Hanau 93 and ESV Ingolstadt , he completed 85 league games in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored 22 goals before moving to Asia to Bulova SA in Hong Kong.
