Hans Baur (born August 8, 1910 in Eresing near Landsberg am Lech ; † December 21, 1986 in Munich ) was a German folk actor and character actor .
Life
Baur graduated from the Wilhelmsgymnasium in Munich in 1929 and began studying law at the University of Munich , which he broke off after one semester .
It was only after his first engagement with radio in Munich (1932) and the threat of dismissal that Hans Baur took professional acting lessons from the state actress Magda Lena . Stage engagements followed, u. a. in Munich at the Kammerspiele (1934/1935), at the municipal theaters of Augsburg (1935-1937), the municipal theaters of Münster (1937-1939), the theater of the city of Essen (1941/1942; 1946-1948) and the municipal theaters Theaters in Frankfurt am Main (1942–1944). Because of a serious illness, Baur was spared military service. In the 1960s and 1970s he appeared as an actor in the Munich Residenztheater , z. B. on January 5, 1975 in the premiere of Der Brandner Kaspar und das Ewig 'Leben .
It was not until the 1950s that Hans Baur developed into a familiar face for film and television viewers, initially primarily through TV versions of plays and literary films. So he played u. a. in Das Spukschloß im Spessart (1960), Death Runs Behind (1967) or The Wiesingers (1984). His role as District Court Counselor Stierhammer in Georg Lohmeier's 53-part series Royal Bavarian District Court (1969–1972) at the side of Georg Blädel and all the important folk actors of the time was particularly popular .
Because of his sonorous voice, Hans Baur was predestined for the narrator in numerous children's radio plays , including Der Räuber Hotzenplotz (6 parts), Die kleine Hexe (3 parts) and Das kleine Gespenst . Otfried Preußler provided the book for all of the radio plays mentioned . In addition, the actor could be heard in a few radio plays on Bavarian Radio from the children's series Meister Eder and his Pumuckl in supporting roles, for example as Meister Eder's friend, the craftsman Bernbacher in the episode Das Suckling Pig , based on the book of the same name by Ellis Kaut . Baur also rarely worked as a voice actor , for example, he lent Bengt Ekerot the voice as “Death” in The Seventh Seal .
His grave is in the Feldafing cemetery .
