Hans Henrik von Liewen the Younger (* 1704 ; † November 25, 1781 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish count , imperial council , politician and lieutenant general .

origin

He was a member of the Baltic noble family Lieven . His parents were Hans Henrik von Liewen (1664–1733), born in Estonia , and Freiin Magdalena Julianna von Tiesenhausen .

Life

Liewen first studied in Uppsala in 1718 . In 1720 he became court squire and in 1722 chamberlain . He joined the Swedish army, and 1729 was captain , became in 1740 the Major , in 1746 to lieutenant colonel , 1748 to colonel of cavalry and 1755 to Major General . With this promotion he was accepted as a commander in the Order of the Sword . In 1762 he was promoted to lieutenant general and was awarded the Order of Seraphine .

From 1766 to 1772 Liewen was Governor General of Swedish Pomerania . After that he was Reichsmarschall from 1772 to 1781 , later also Oberhofmarschall . Liewen was successively chancellor of the universities of Åbo , Greifswald and Lund .

Liewen had as Lord of the Manor to 1740 Runsa in Stockholm County and 1752-1762 County as Arrendator Beckaskog in Christianstads.

He was buried in Riddarholms Church .
